This pizza was a winner except for one thing… I did not put enough meatballs on it. I first made this for my birthday party and everyone loved it. In my Spaghetti & Meatballs recipe, I mention the meatballs themselves were so good that I should have served them as mini snacks while I was in the kitchen making the pizzas. Lesson #1 learned.
Wine Pairing: Barbera or Dolcetto
I should have made the meatballs cover almost every inch of this pizza. Lesson #2 learned.

I love pizzas, maybe not as much as my husband, but still have a soft spot for them. This recipe is easy if you make in advance the marinara sauce and meatballs. A great comfort dish that the whole family will love.
- 5 tablespoons Part Skim Milk Ricotta
- 3/4 cups Janie's Marinara Sauce
- 3 Garlic Cloves (Cut extremely thinly slices (Seth did it for me on our mandolin))
- 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
- 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (Optional if you don't like spicy)
- 15 Mini Meatballs
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
|1.||Have your oven preheated to at least 500F. Preferrably for one hour before baking your pizza.|
|2.||Take your pizza dough and stretch it out to your preferred thinness and shape.|
|3.||Brush olive oil all over the top of the pizza in a thin coat.|
|4.||In a medium size bowl, mix together your ricotta and marinara sauce.|
|5.||Spread the cheesy sauce over the pizza dough.|
|6.||Sprinkle your oregano and pepper flakes all over the pizza.|
|7.||Spread your garlic slices evenly throughout.|
|8.||Place your meatballs evenly throughout the pizza covering it entirely.|
|9.||Place pizza in the oven (click on the link for my pizza dough recipe) for 5 minutes till the crust is golden brown.|
|10.||Remove the pizza, cut into slices. |
Serve warm and enjoy!
